Overview
PageKeep is a personal reading companion developed by Simic Solutions Inc. This policy describes how the current PageKeep app handles information. PageKeep does not require an account, and Simic Solutions does not operate a PageKeep library-data server.
Information stored on your device
Your book titles, authors, ISBNs, covers, page totals, reading progress, goals, notes, quotes, ratings, reviews, completion dates, borrowed-book information, outbound loan records, saved places and bookshelf contents are stored locally on your device. PageKeep does not transmit this personal library information to Simic Solutions.
Simic Solutions does not retain PageKeep library data because the app does not send that data to us.
Analytics, advertising and tracking
The PageKeep app does not use Firebase Analytics, Google Analytics, advertising SDKs, cross-app tracking or behavioural profiling. Simic Solutions does not sell PageKeep personal information.
Camera and ISBN scanning
If you choose to scan a book barcode, PageKeep requests access to the device camera to identify its ISBN. PageKeep does not upload or retain camera images. You can deny or revoke camera permission in iOS Settings and continue adding books manually.
Open Library book information
When you search for a book, PageKeep sends an ISBN or title-and-author query to Open Library. Opening eligible book details may also contact Open Library for covers, book metadata, aggregate ratings and related-book suggestions.
Open Library and the Internet Archive are external providers, not Simic Solutions services. Their own systems and privacy practices apply. See the Internet Archive Terms of Use and privacy information.
Nearby bookstores and libraries
You can search for bookstores and libraries by entering a city, town or postal code without granting location permission. If you tap Near Me, PageKeep requests When In Use location access and uses the delivered coordinate only to perform that nearby search through Apple MapKit. PageKeep does not request background or Always location access and does not keep your current location or search history.
Place searches and map results are provided by Apple. Simic Solutions does not receive your location or place searches. If you save a place, PageKeep stores the selected place information and your optional note locally on your device. Directions open in Apple Maps rather than being tracked inside PageKeep.
Notifications
If you enable loan or reading reminders, PageKeep asks Apple for notification permission and schedules reminders locally on your device. You can change notification permission in iOS Settings and manage PageKeep reminder settings in the app.
Optional Files backups
You can export a backup manually or choose a folder through Apple’s Files system for automatic backups. PageKeep writes the backup to the folder or Files provider you select. The selected provider—such as iCloud Drive or a third-party Files provider—handles that file under its own terms and privacy policy. This feature is backup and restore, not live multi-device syncing.
Sharing
PageKeep shares only the book or bookshelf content you select, using Apple’s standard share sheet. The destination app or service you choose handles the shared content under its own policies. PageKeep does not post anything automatically.
Deleting your data
You can delete individual books, unsave individual places, or clear the local library through PageKeep Settings. Clearing the library also removes locally stored loan records and saved places. You can manage or delete exported and automatic-backup files through the Files app or the selected Files provider. Deleting the app may remove locally stored PageKeep data; keep a backup first if you may want to restore it.
Children’s privacy
PageKeep is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children, and the app does not require an account. If you believe information was sent to Simic Solutions through a separate support request by a child, contact us so we can review the request.
Support communications
If you email PageKeep support, the information you choose to send is handled separately from the app’s local library. Do not send private notes, quotes, reading history or an entire backup unless you knowingly decide it is necessary for troubleshooting.
Policy changes
We may update this policy when PageKeep’s features, providers or legal obligations change. The effective date and last-updated date will be revised when a new policy applies. We will not describe app behaviour here until it is part of the released build.
